The small dark colored dog was shy. The big boy and the owners were very friendly.
You know the old saying "anybody that likes dogs can't be all bad", I think it must be true.​

A wonderful image, this.

I reckon the composition just fell into place by itself. As sometimes happens. One only has to be at the right place at the right time, as you were.

In a word - serendipity.

Thank you DownUnder. That alley in Chinatown is so photogenic that everyone that enters it with a camera or iPhone takes a picture. Most people (myself included) choose to use a wide angle lens to capture the scene. However, for this particular shot I decided to use a short tele (65mm) instead to try and give the image a little more condensed intensity. It also helped that the light was pretty good on that day too!
